Bere Regis Scout HQ – Wareham & Purbeck District

Elder Road, Bere Regis BH20 7LY

How do I find the building?
Once in Elder Road, look for the first turning on your left which is a gravel track leading to the hut set back amongst the trees. In the dark, its after the third lamp post on the left, the first lamp post very near the junction.

Is there parking?
There is a car-park for about 10 cars and if this is full, please park in the road outside which is a residential road. If this isn’t possible, there is a small car-park in the village centre off Manor Farm Road – go further along Elder Road and take your next right and then your next right onto Turberville Road. The car park is signposted when driving up Manor Farm Road.

Is the building accessible?
This centre is fully accessible (ramp) and has a disabled toilet. But the car-park and drive is a track not tarmac so support may be needed from the car to the ramp.

Blandford Scout HQ – North Dorset District

Eagle House Gardens, Blandford Forum DT11 7BT

How do I find the building?
Once in Eagle Gardens, follow the road for 150m and look for a track on the right after the second terrace of houses. It is under some trees, on the left-hand bend, just after a small layby on the right. There is a white sign on a post saying “Blandford Scout Group”.

Is there parking?
There is a car-park split behind and in front for around 30 cars. The drive is clockwise so go down the left-hand side of the building as you come in. The front door is on the right-hand side as you come in.

Is the building accessible?
This centre is fully accessible (ramp) and disabled toilet. But the car-park and drive is a track not tarmac so support may be needed from the car to the ramp.

Brownjohns Copse Campsite – Dorchester & West Dorset District

Redbridge Road, Crossways, Dorchester DT2 8DU

How do I find the building?
Once in Redbridge Road, look for the wide skirt access to the quarry on the north, the campsite entrance is opposite. Its 680m (0.4m) from the west junction with the B3390 and 740m (0.5m) from going over the railway bridge in the east. The what3words are griin.month.shelters. Once on the site, park up and walk down the track if there is no-one on the first upper level.

Is there parking?
There is car parking, although it may not all be on hard-standing.

Is the building accessible?
This campsite is about to be developed further and is currently difficult for people with mobility challenges. We suggest you contact the Training Administrator via Eventbrite to discuss.

Buddens Camp Site – County

Puddletown Road, Wareham BH20 7NU

How do I find the site?
From the NW, pass the road on the left to the golf course, pass under the electricity wires where on the right is an entrance to the quarry works, start slowing down and pass two laybys on the left and just after the second is the track on the left. The sign is low down on the grass bank. Its 1.7 miles from the junction.

From the SE, pass the Quarry entrance on the right, then Hanson Aggregates on the right (lots of heavy vehicles warning signs), catch the view opening on the right, then as the road starts a gentle bend to the left, slow down, the entrance is on the right. The sign is low down on the grass bank. Its 3 miles from the junction.

Follow the track down to the car-park.

Is there parking?
There is a plenty of parking at the end of the track. You will do a sharp right then a left and drop down into it.

Is the building accessible?
This centre is fully accessible (ramp) and has a disabled toilet. The car-park is a track not tarmac so support may be needed from the car to the door. Or you could be dropped off outside the building before your driver back-tracks to the car-park.

Butchers Coppice Camp Site – Bournemouth District

How do I find the building?
From the dual carriageway end, it is the second entrance on the right, opposite Anchor Rd. The first entrance is the school, and the scout site entrance is on the far set of yellow zig-zags marking their entrance. There is an orange sign facing you under the trees.
Once on the site, reception is just on your right at the top of the slope. Here you can find out where the room is for the course.

Is there parking?
There is NO parking onsite. Please park in the road and walk in.

Is the building accessible?
Parking can be arranged on the site which is useful as the drive in off the road is steep. After that all buildings are accessible with disabled toilets.

Christchurch Scout Centre – Christchurch District

Beauchamp Place, Christchurch BH23 2BS

How do I find the building?
Check out the map and make sure your sat-nav is going to the right place. As Beauchamp Place has only had its postal addresses since July 2017, not all sat-navs have it. If yours doesn’t, use BH23 2BT which will take you to just around the corner. From the main road (Fairmile), turn into the estate (Avon Trading Park), the first right is no entry so take the second right, then right again just before the Royal Mail Delivery Centre, then right again and the building is immediately on your left.

Is there parking?
There is parking onsite for about 10 cars. If the car-park is full, go round the block again and park in the Royal Mail spaces – there is an agreement we can use the places out of hours.as its Saturday. Its then about 50m walk.

Is the building accessible?
Yes, there is a ramp to the front door, wide door access to the hall and a special needs toilet. Let the organiser know if you would like a space saved near to the entrance.

Denis Gooding Scout Centre – Poole District

Layton Road, Poole BH12 2BJ

How do I find the building?
Once in Layton Road, look for the long, low white building which is a medical centre, on the corner of Sunny Hill Rd. When looking at it, there is a track on the right-hand side to the HQ. The parking here can mean that you are looking for a car width gap between two cars. On the other side of the track is number 53, a white painted end of terrace. The green gates will be open but you may spot the trefoils on them.

Is there parking?
There is a car-park behind for about 10 cars. Other parking will be on the road but as it is a residential one, you may have to hunt a little,

Is the building accessible?
The centre is fully accessible (flat entrance) and has a disabled toilet. But there is a steep incline from the car-park so alternate parking arrangements may need to be made.

Crossways Youth and Community Centre

How do I find the building?
When entering Old Farm Way from Mount Skippet Way, it is on the left, opposite a fence to a garage. There is a white sign at the entrance.

Is there parking?
There is a car-park just past the building. If this is full, park back out on the road.

Is the building accessible?

Ferndown Scout HQ – East Dorset District

Cherry Grove, Ferndown BH22 9EZ

How do I find the building?
Once in Cherry Grove, pass the line of houses on your right. Just before the mini roundabout there is a footpath that goes off to the right. The scout HQ is down here so you will need to walk down here. Its 50m down the path and on your right.

Is there parking?
You can use the car-park on the other side of the mini-roundabout. It is a huge car-park for the school and leisure centre.

Is the building accessible?
There is short walk required from the road to the building, further if you have to park the car yourself. There is level access to the building and the toilets are accessible to standard wheelchairs.

Iford Lane Scout HQ – Bournemouth District

Iford Lane, Iford Lane Recreational Ground, Bournemouth BH6 5NE

How do I find the building?
From the north-west, once past Iford Roundabout and in Iford Lane, the recreational ground entrance is 0.7 miles on the left hand side, opposite Seafield Road.
From the south-east, once in Iford Lane, the recreational ground entrance is 0.4 miles on the rightt hand side, opposite Seafield Road.
The scout building is the first building on the right as you enter the park. The entrance to the building is at the front.

Is there parking?
There is a car-park at the end of the entrance into the park and you can also park on the right hand side as you enter the turning. On rare occasions, when parking is full, alternative parking can be found in Seafield Road opposite the park entrance and other neighbouring roads.

Is the building accessible?
This centre is fully accessible (ramp) with a further ramp available for entrance into the building if needed. A disabled toilet is also available. There are no reserved parking areas for disabled parking so support may be needed from the car to the ramp.

Mudeford HQ – Christchurch District

How do I find the building?
From the roundabout in the north, intersecting Somerford Rd, Purewell Cross Rd, Purewell and Stanpit, go through both pinch points. As you go through the second pinch point, you will see large pine trees ahead on the right-hand side of the road. The turning to the building is between these trees, just past “BUS STOP” written in the road (far side). It is signposted ‘Stanpit Recreation Ground’ and you turn into a car-park. The HQ is diagonally opposite the entrance and the door is on the left-hand side, adjacent to the house next door.

Is there parking?
The car-park is the rec’s public one and has a 2m height limit to enter. If the car-park is full, there is parking in the side roads but allow yourself a little time to find a space and walk back.

Is the building accessible?
There is one step up to the front door but there is a portable ramp available if needed. Inside it is level with toilet access. There are no reserved parking areas for disabled parking.

Scoutland Campsite – Dorchester & West Dorset District

Shortmoor, Beaminster DT8 3FF

How do I find the building?
Once in Beaminster on the A3066, if going south turn left, if going north turn right, into Fleet St, opposite the ‘square’. Take care on Fleet St as its narrow. Watch on the right for large buildings on the corners of a right turning that have curved frontages, turn right. As you turn you will see the white signpost on your left saying “Shortmoor only”. Go just 40m and turn left in front of the pedestrian stepped entrance to the church. The tarmac quickly becomes a track, go down 180m until you see the sign for the campsite.

Is there parking?
There is a car-park for about 10 cars and if this is full, go back to Fleet St and turn right, there’s some spaces by the rec entrance. If this isn’t possible, go back into the town and park there.

This centre is fully accessible (ramp) and has a disabled toilet. But the car-park and drive is a track not tarmac so support may be needed from the car to the building.

Stalbridge Scout HQ – North Dorset District

How do I find the building?
Once in Lower Road, look for the sign on the west side of the road that says ‘village hall’. Drive in and the scout building is the first one on your right.

Is there parking?
Park opposite the scout HQ on the left hand side as you’re going in.

Is the building accessible?
This centre is fully accessible – level access into the building and a disabled toilet is also available.

2nd Wimborne Scout HQ – East Dorset District

How do I find the building?
Once in Riverside Park Industrial Estate, take the first right which is soon after you enter. The scout HQ is the second building on the left hand side.

Is there parking?
There is a car-park right outside and there is parking in the road too.

This centre is fully accessible – level access into the building and a disabled toilet is also available.

Wareham Scout & Guide HQ – Wareham and Purbeck District

How do I find the building?
At the main traffic lights in Wareham, turn right into East Street. Go down until you see the No Through Road sign and turn left just before, into North Bestwall Road. The building is 100m on your right.

Is there parking?
Yes.

Is the building accessible?
Yes

1st Woodcutts Scout HQ – East Dorset District

Sixpenny Handley SP5 5NW

How do I find the building?
From the west, after the right turning to Woodcutts village, the road goes straight ahead and then under some trees. As you come out from under the trees, look for the single tree on the right and the electricity wires crossing the road, the entrance is between the two. From the east and Sixpenny Handley, keep going until you come to the national speed limit. At this point, the electricity cables run alongside the road on the right. You go round a bend to the left, slow down, the entrance is on your left as the electricity cables cross over the road.
