Supporting you to support the Additional Needs of our Young People

Scouting is an inclusive, values based movement and membership is open to all those who share our fundamental values. An additional need is any personal condition or situation that could make it more challenging for a young person to participate fully in Scouting. Our aim is to remove real and perceived barriers, with reasonable adjustments, to get young people participating.

We have a fantastic of Additional Needs Adviser: Claire Mitchell. You can contact them to ask for support or advice.

There is also a lot of information on the scouts website on many aspects of inclusion and diversity which might also give you help.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
