Gregory Grant
We have had a very kind bequest from the late Mrs Gregory, and the County Trust Board have agreed that it should be used to support those who might be finding it difficult to afford access to Scouting facilities or activities. Grants are available up to £500 for specific purposes, either to individual young people or to sections/groups. We will look to approve and deliver grants on a monthly cycle, around the end/start of the month. - The individual or section looking for support (include Compass number for an individual). We do not need to know the financial background in detail, the leader’s validation is fine.
- The amount of grant wanted, and what it will be used for
- Any time constraints applying (a do by date)
- Details of how and where any grant money should be paid. We prefer BACS and to pay any supplier involved direct.
The requests should be validated, supported, and submitted by the Section Leader or Group Scout Leader for an individual, or by the District Commissioner for a Section or Group.
We really do want to use this money to best effect and in line with our Scouting values; it is a limited but moderately sized pot and we expect to be able to run the grants for a year or more, obviously depending on demand. If you know of someone that might be suitable to benefit, please pass the word on. I and my County colleagues look forward to spreading a bit of sunshine!
