THE MIGHTY, MIGHTY, MIGHTY BERE REGIS

We are awesome, because you are awesome. The Scout Group has a simple aim; to develop young people to achieve their full potential. To make you more awesome than you already are.

Physical, spritual, emotional and mental development are the four corners of what we do. There is a structured programme delivered by lovely volunteers to help you raise your game. Come on!

ABOUT US Doing it for over a century

The first recorded event was on Sunday 11 January (1914) when the Troop paraded from the Drax Hall to Shitterton and back carrying a large banner proclaiming who they were. They were entertained to tea and cakes in the Vicarage before attending evensong. Mr H (Bertie) Jesty was Scout Leader with Mrs Bere (wife of the then vicar) was ASL.

Then on 12 February 1914 the Troop attended the Christening of Sir Robert and Lady Baden-Powell’s son, Arthur at Parkstone Parish Church. Robert Baden Powell being the founder of the Scouting movement. Bere Regis was one of some 17 Troops who attended the Christening and together formed a Guard-of-Honour of around 300 scouts.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
