The following members of Dorset Scouts achieved the highest award possible as a Young Person – the King’s/Queen’s Scout Award.

2024 - Bradley Pickering


Bradley achieved his King’s Scout Award in 2024 as a member of Weymouth & Portland district. Becoming Dorset’s sixth member to be awarded under King Charles III, and our fifth King’s Scout. As part of his award, he completed his DofE Gold Award and much more.

2024 - Emily House


Emily achieved her King’s Scout Award in 2024 as a member of Bournemouth district. Becoming Dorset’s fifth member to be awarded under King Charles III, and our forth King’s Scout. As part of her award, she completed her DofE Gold Award and and much more.

2023 - Kelly Williams


Kelly achieved her King’s Scout Award in 2023 as a member of Bournemouth district. Becoming Dorset’s forth member to be awarded under King Charles III, and our third King’s Scout. As part of her award, she completed her DofE Gold Award and Explorer Belt, helped as a member of Camp Site Staff at Butchers Coppice, and took part in educating others about Environmental Issues in the area.

2023 - Thomas Richardson


Thomas achieved his King’s Scout Award in 2023 as a member of Poole district. Becoming Dorset’s third member to be awarded under King Charles III, and our second King’s Scout. As part of his award, he completed his DofE Gold Award, developed his skills in both Watersports and Music, and helped run his local scout troop.

2023 - Hayley Hobson


Hayley achieved her King’s Scout Award in 2023 as a member of Bournemouth district. Becoming Dorset’s second member to be awarded under King Charles III, and our first King’s Scout. As part of her award, she visited Norway and Sweden, completed her DofE Gold Award, and helped run her local cub pack.

2023 - Wing Leung


Wing achieved his Queen’s Scout Award in 2023 as a member of Poole district. Becoming Dorset’s first member to be awarded under King Charles III, and our last member to be given the Queen’s Scout Award. As part of his award, he Completed the DofE Gold Award, earned his Powerboat Level 2 Award with the RYA, and Camped with his Scouting Group on HMS Cattistock.

2022 - Martyn Pope


Martyn achieved his Queen’s Scout Award in 2022 as a member of Poole district. Martyn was the last member of Dorset to earn the award under Queen Elizabeth II. As part of his award, As part of his award, he Completed the DofE Gold Award, volunteered as the District Youth Commissioner, and visited the International Scouting Centre in Kanderstag, Switzerland.

2021 - Courtney Fereday


Courtney achieved there Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Christchurch district. As part of there award, they Completed the DofE Gold Award, helped educate there District with LGBTQIA+ Awareness within the community, and ran a number of International Themed evenings with youth sections.

2021 - Jade Abrook


Jade achieved her Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Bournemouth district. As part of her award, she Completed the DofE Gold Award, Attended the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA, and helped raise money for a local Homeless Shelter.

2021 - William Irwen Bourdillon


William achieved his Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Bournemouth district. As part of his award, he Completed the DofE Gold Award, completed an expedition in the Alps, and helped run and organise a number of meetings for his local cub pack.

2021 - William St Barbe Baker


William achieved his Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Dorchester and West district. As part of his award, he completed the DofE Gold Award, carried out the Role of District Youth Commissioner, and climbed Mount Kenya whilst in Africa doing a Volunteer Project.

2021 - Lewis Thornton

Lewis achieved his Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Poole district. As part of his award, he Completed the DofE Gold Award, Completed an Expedition in the Welsh Valleys, and Completed his Competent Crew Award with the RYA.

2021 - Jade McCarthy

Jade achieved her Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Christchurch district. As part of her award, she volunteered with her local Beaver Colony, taught Sailing to a number of younger members across Dorset, and completed a 5 day expedition in Dartmoor National Park.

2021 - Ben Howard

Ben achieved his Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Wareham & Purbeck district. As part of his award, he completed his DofE Gold Award, helped run and organise a number of local scout evenings, and attended the World Scout Jamboree in the USA.

2021 - Anona Mann

Anona achieved her Queen’s Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Poole district. As part of her award, she Completed her DofE Gold Award, Helped run and Organise Sheffield University SSAGO unit, and canoed the length of Caledonian Canal.

2021 - Ebony Benfield

Ebony achieved her Queens Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Bournemouth district. As part of her award, she Completed her DofE Gold Award, Helped run and Organise Keele University SSAGO unit, and attended the World Scout Jamboree in the USA.

 


2021 - Ian Smewing

Ian achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Christchurch district. As part of his award, he served as Dorset’s and Christchurch’s first Youth Commissioner, completed his DofE Gold Award, and attended the World Scout Moot in Iceland.

2021 - Elliott Ray


Elliott achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Christchurch district.

2021 - Zoe Rowbotham

Zoe achieved her Queens Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Wareham and Isle of Purbeck district. As part of her award, she completed multiple nights camping in the UK and Abroad, Organised local community events and helped run her local scout groups meetings.

2021 - Jack Ogden


Jack achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Christchurch district.

2020 - Nick McTernan


Nick achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Wareham and Isle of Purbeck district.

2020 - Ben Woodcock


Ben achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2021 as a member of Weymouth and Portland district.

2020 - Tom Hodd


Tom achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2020 as a member of Wareham and Purbeck district.

2019/2020 - Martin Underwood

Martin achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2020 as a member of Christchurch district. As part of his award, he achieved his Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, acted as Mayors Scout for Christchurch Council and attended visited Buckingham Palace.

2019/2020 - Ricky Harris


Ricky achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2020 as a member of Christchurch district.

2018 - Samuel Whiting


Samuel achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2018 as a member of Bournemouth district.

2018 - Georgia Hazell


Georgia achieved her Queens Scout Award in 2018 as a member of Poole district.

2017 - Keren Gething


Keren achieved her Queens Scout Award in 2017 as a member of Wareham and Purbeck district. As part of her award, she attended the annual St Georges Day parade at Windsor Castle, and met Bear Grylls.

Rowan achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2016 as a member of Wareham and Purbeck district.

2016 - Aaron Palmer

Aaron achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2016 as a member of Wareham and Purbeck district. As part of his award, he climbed mountains and completed his Mountain Leader Assessment, and attended Windsor Castle to receive his award.

2015 - Rory Collier

James achieved his Queens Scout Award in 2013 as a member of Poole district. As part of his award, he hiked in Dartmoor and France, did an international trip to the Australian Jamboree and attended Windsor Castle to receive his award.
