Young People First – Safeguarding In Scouting

All adults in Dorset are guided by The Scout Association’s policies and procedures. There is much support material that adults can reference. It includes:

If an adult needs immediate advice about a possible safeguarding issue, please call HQ and ask for the safeguarding team. Also contact your DC or the CC.

All adults undergo training, initially as part of Getting Started: Essential Information (module 1) and then refresher training every 5 years. Lynne Anderson is our Safeguarding Trainer and delivers refresher courses around the county as part of our training calendar.

All adults should regularly review their Yellow Card (version 7 printed 2018) which is a summary of our Best Practice.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
