Enjoy Dorset Scouts’ Buddens Activity Centre, partnered with Rockley
Dorset Scouts’ site
Buddens, as its affectionally known, has been part of Dorset scouting for years. Located in the heart of the beautiful district of Purbeck, the site was purchased by Dorset Scouts in 1994. With 96 acres of varied countryside, heath, woodland, water meadows and plantations, it was developed as a first class camping and activity centre. Many large scouting events were held here, do you remember Goose, Medex, Dragon with Bear Grylls, or Beajam?
Having been run by Dorset volunteers, and after a period of a partnership with TSA ‘Scout Adventures’, a new partnership was formed between Dorset Scouts and Rockley in April 2021.
The centre continues to be enjoyed by members of Dorset Scouts and by Scouts from all over the country and the world. Rockley oversees the operation of the centre and also offers this fantastic resource to many other young people throughout the year.

We relish the opportunity to grow Buddens Activity Centre into the top scouting venue in the UK, offering amazing facilities, a range of inspiring teambuilding activities and a dedicated team to deliver these experiences. Since April 2021, we have steadily refurbished the on-site facilities in harmony with the environment to not only ensure a greater customer experience for your young people, but also in a way that enhances the setting and that unique sense of open space that makes Buddens Activity Centre so special. Our centre team are on hand to help you with any enquiry you have and will ensure that your groups stay on site is second to none. With over 32 activities on site, and 96 acres, Buddens Activity Centre has all you need to tailor your trip to your individual requirements.
